Jeannette to Discuss Gender and REDD+ in Asia at the Regional UN-REDD Asia-Pacific Exchange Event

Wednesday, May 6, 2015 - 9:00pm to Thursday, May 7, 2015 - 9:00pm

(Asia/Bangkok)

Jeannette will be presenting the findings of the Joint Initiative among WOCAN, LEAF and UN-REDD on Gender and REDD+ at the Regional UN-REDD Asia-Pacific Exchange among Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Representatives and Leaders held on 7 – 8 May 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. The objective of the joint initiative was to identify practical entry points for women’s inclusion and gender perspectives in REDD+ in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The objectives of this regional event are to:

  • Facilitate the interactive exchange of best practices and lessons learnt on stakeholder engagement and the participation of IPs and CSO constituencies in national REDD+ processes, drawing from the Programme’s  efforts in the past years at national, regional and global levels; and
  • Develop regional approaches and collaborative arrangements for IPs and CSO engagement in REDD+ processes, including with the UN-REDD Programme.
