WOCAN at the UN Convention to Combat Desertification COP12

Meena Bilgi, WOCAN Core Associate, is one of the panelists on the session titled “Drylands Women in the Face of Social Change and the Pursuit of Environmental Resilience” during the UN Convention to Combat Desertification COP12 being held in Anakara, Turkey from on 12-23 October. The objective of the session is to highlight women’s strategic role in building resilient livelihoods and ecosystems in the drylands, the challenges they face, and opportunities for enhancing the role of women for resilient inclusive development in the drylands and mobilizing potential partners towards the application of the strategic actions. The session will be chaired by Anne Juepner, Director, Global Policy Centre on Resilient Ecosystems and Desertification, UNDP and other panelist are John Morton, Professor, Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich and Elie Kodsi, Senior Technical Advisor, UNDP.
