Summary Report: Dialogue on Women’s Inclusion in Landscape Management in Asia 2014

This report summarizes the discussions and outcomes of the "Regional Dialogue on Women's Inclusion in Landscape Management in Asia", held on 7-9 Oct in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN) in partnership with The Center for People and Forests (RECOFTC) and The Forests Dialogue, and with the support of the Stockholm Environment Institute, organized the Dialogue.

Joint Initiative for Promoting Greater Gender Equality in SFM Policy & Practice

Aki Kono, Regional Advisor of UN-REDD Programme (UNDP) presented the findings of the Joint Initiative for Promoting Greater Gender Equality in SFM Policy & Practice, during the 'Regional Dialogue on Women’s Inclusion in Landscape Management in Asia' held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on 7-9 October 2014. 

Women’s Inclusion in REDD+ in Sri Lanka Lessons from Good Practices in Forest, Agriculture and Other Natural Resources Management Sectors

The study is a part of the Joint Initiative of WOCAN, the UN-REDD Programme and USAID-funded LEAF Project to investigate practical entry points for women’s inclusion in Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) policies and practices. It explores the current status of policies and practices related to gender integration in forestry and other natural resource management sectors in Sri Lanka, and their relation to REDD+ initiatives.
