As the global climate crisis intensifies, the role of women in driving innovative, sustainable, and nature-based solutions has become increasingly vital. However, women-led climate initiatives often face significant barriers in accessing the necessary financial resources.
This panel will explore the nexus between women’s leadership environmental protection, conservation and climate interventions and outcomes, and discuss how initiatives can be better resourced, supported, and reflected in climate policy.
Panelists will also present an example of how an agroforestry/forest conservation project in Cote d’Ivoire promotes women’s leadership and benefits for women through local women’s groups, using the W+ Standard to quantify and monetize outcomes that provide sustained revenue to national and regional women’s organizations engaged in forest management in West and Central Africa.
