Jeannette will be attending the Nature’s Leading Women (NLW) 2024 which is a learning exchange hosted by the Nature Conservancy in Australia, bringing together over 60 exceptional women leaders in climate and conservation from across the globe.
The group will include women leaders in grassroots climate and conservation groups from Aotearoa/New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Kenya and Tanzania, joined by TNC staff working closely with these groups and leaders from across the organization.
The first part of the program is linked into the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial (APT11) at Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) supporting the KAWAKI Women’s Network. KAWAKI are a group of women in remote Solomon Islands who formed around the vision of connecting community, culture and conservation who have been commissioned to create an artwork in collaboration with Dreamcast Theatre as part of APT11. The group will also participate in an open-talking talanoa/yarning-style event as part of the APT11 Symposium hosted by QAGOMA where you will be invited to exchange knowledge around themes relating to conservation, art and culture.
This is an opportunity for women from around the world to connect, share and learn with each other as leaders in conservation and climate. Participants will return home with inspiration and experiences to share with their communities
