Jeannette presented the W+ Standard: How it can enhance and measure women’s empowerment in World Bank projects on March 5 at a seminar attended by over 45 people, sponsored by the Gender and Rural Development group of the World Bank. Two World Bank staff, Kathleen Beegle, Lead Gender Economist and Maria Beatriz Orlando, Senior Social Development Specialist and Program Manager of the Poverty and Social Impact Analysis commented on the W+; discussions led by the Chair, Martien Nieuwkoop and Willem Janssen, Lead Agricultural Economist focused on how the W+ could be applied to public sector projects of the Bank.
