Now in its sixth year, the AVPN Conference brought together a diverse group of funders and resource providers from around the globe to take part in the largest gathering of social investors in Asia. This is the fourth time WOCAN has attended this event, and this years theme “Maximizing Impact” aligned perfectly with WOCAN’s focus on women’s empowerment through the W+ Standard and Women and Climate Fund. Jeannette and Nisha attended various sessions led by AVPN members such as: Innovative financing on gender, Scaling solutions through philanthropy, Climate change action workshops, Making impact measurement work, Social Investment in Forestry, Unlocking social impact investing in Asia/Pacific and Gender lens investment workshop. Besides the session discussions, it was a great opportunities to share ideas and network with impact investors, venture philanthropic, social entrepreneurs, development agencies and foundations.
Jeannette also moderated a session on Addressing Gender Inequality to Create Impact, with speakers from MEDA, DFAT Australia, Root Impact and Equal Community Foundation.
Jeannette and Nisha also attended the Gender Lens Investing Breakfastsession organized by Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) and Dalberg.
