Jeannette discussed the W+ Standard during the panel discussion on gender impact measurement at the Gender Lens Investing in Asia workshop on 19 Nov in Bangkok, Thailand. The other panelists represented the Women’s World Banking, Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) and OXFAM. The panelists discussed various measurements tools and approaches they use to measure gender impacts.
Christina Juhasz, Chief Investment Officer of Women’s World Banking shared their five step process they use to verify organization to support. Linda Jones, Senior Director Global Programs of MEDA shared her insights of ESG reporting and MEDA’s process of Rapid Assessment on mainstreaming gender. Marie Lisa Dacanay, Founding President of ISEA shared the Benchmarks they are preparing for companies to mainstream gender, not just focusing on transactional but transformational change in women’s empowerment. Jocelyn Villanueva, Market Systems and Women’s Economic Empowerment Adviser og Oxfam GB shared her experience of implementing the GRAISEA project in the region.
The session was both informative and thought-provoking. The participants were curious to understand the monetization of W+ units and also wanted deeper understanding of climate finance and gender lens investing,
The workshop was co-hosted by Co-host by Sasakawa Peace Foundation, AWSEN, Oxfam, ChangeFusion, AVPN, ANDE and UNDP.
