WOCAN and HIMAWANTI organized the W+ Benefit Sharing Planning meeting with women leaders from Sidhuli and Kavre District on 6 August in HIMWANTI’s Central office in Kathmandu. The women leaders represent the women’s group who are the stakeholders of the Time Saving for Women Users of Biogas Stoves Project which is the pilot project to apply the W+ Standard’s Time method and has generated596,892 units.
Dibya Gurung, WOCAN Core Associate, facilitated the meeting which focused on the following:
–How to communicate the funds generated by the sale of W+ units to the participating women groups in the 2 districts
–How to develop a plan to use the funds with the members of women’s groups
–How and when to submit the report
–Discussed the legal procedures of transferring the money and documentation for transparency
The women leaders developed a communication plan and agreed to submit their reports to HIMAWANTI by mid-August. HIMAWANTI has designated a staff to ensure that the fund generated from the sale of the W+ unitsis sent to the women’s groups upon the receipt of their plans.
