Jeannette Gurung attended the Expert Group Meeting on Gender and Climate Policy and Action to discuss the current status, identify good practices and practical approaches to the implementation of gender-related mandates and decisions in UNFCCC processes and mechanisms. The meeting was organized by theUN-Women, UN DESA and the UNFCCC secretariat from 14 – 16 Oct., in Bonn, Germany. Discussions focused on the various gender mainstreaming tools, approaches and good practices in use by parties and implementing agencies such as theCTCN,GEFand theGCF. The objective of the meeting wasto develop recommendations (in the form of guidelines, or checklists) that will assist policy makers and practitioners to formulate and implement gender-sensitive and gender-responsive climate policy and actions.
