Jeannette Gurung presented the W+ Standard and the Pilot Project ‘Time Saving for Women Users of Biogas in Nepal’ during the W+ event held on 21 January in Kathmandu, Nepal. Sumitra M. Gurung, CEO of Mahila Sahayatra ,Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha was also present to share her perspective on partnering with W+ to manage and disseminate the revenue from the sale of W+ units to women beneficiaries. The participants were from financial sector, private companies, donors, NGOs and media. The participants discussed various challenges for marketing the W+ unit in Nepal but also identified several opportunities such as growing interest of financial institutions on CSR/social investment and other products that can apply W+ units in their value chain.
