Dibya Gurung, WOCAN Core Associate, presented the findings of the Scoping Study on Women and Climate Change Adaptation at the Learning Route Opening Workshop, organized by IFAD and PROCASUR on 6 Dec in Kathmandu, Nepal. The Learning Route on women’s empowerment, business development and sustainable natural resource management was launched in support from the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation of Nepal, the Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF), the Nepal Agriculture Co-Operative Central Federation Ltd. (NACCFL). The Learning Route’s main objective is to disseminate best practices and successful strategies for rural livelihoods improvement through gender sensitive natural resource and cooperatives management and cover the four thematic areas:
1. Women´s empowerment and gender mainstreaming
2. Diversification of rural livelihoods
3. Innovative solutions in community forestry management
4. Development of member-based microfinance organizations
