A team of WOCAN, REDD Implementation Center and HIMAWANTI staff conducted Focus Group Discussions in 6 Terai Districts (Nawalparasi, Bara, Bardiya, Kailali, Dang and Kapilvastu) and 1 Hill District (Dolakha) in Nepal. The FGD is part of the gender assessment of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility’s Emission Reduction (ER) programs. This analysis will include examining the interventions in the ER program area and analyzing them from a gender perspective. The study reviews how women’s access to benefits from forest resources and roles in decision making differ in different forest management schemes such as community forests, collaborative forests, protection forests, national parks, wildlife reserve and buffer zone community forests.
