Barun Gurung, WOCAN Lead Trainer, and Nisha Onta facilitated the workshop for participants of RECOFTC’s WAVES (Weaving Equality for Gender Equality) program from 15-18 October in Bangkok. The WAVES program has identified leaders in the forestry sectors from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Thailand with the objective to
- build their capacity to understand, design and implement gender equality measures in forest landscapes
- build leadership skillsto support gender equality across public agencies, private sector and local and ethnic communities
- integrate gender equality into climate policy, monetary investments and actions.
Commissioned by the Embassy of Sweden’s Regional Gender Facility, the workshops introduced the gender analysis tools, discussed how change happens and developed M&E indicators for their individual action plans.
