Nexus and The Gold Standard Foundation hosted the inaugural Innovative Finance for Sustainable Development Conference (IFSD) focused on measuring and valuing co-benefits at the National Library in Singapore on November 11 and 12, 2014. Jeannette discussed the W+ Standard, which is a result-based financing for women’s empowerment during the session titled ‘Pushing the envelope: Untapped potential for valuing impacts and measuring outcomes’. Jeannette presented the W+ pilot project in Nepal to demonstrate how purchasing W+ units will advance women’s empowerment.
The two-day interactive conference was sponsored by the blue moon fund and gathered investors, donors, business and non-profit leaders to explore how innovative and powerful finance mechanisms, such as results-based finance (RBF), can support climate and development projects. IFSD is a platform to advance and facilitate multi-stakeholder discussions on these innovative financing opportunities.
