WOCAN has completed the first steps of the implementation of the first pilot project for the W+ Standard, within a biogas project in Sindhuli and Kavre districts in Nepal, in collaboration with the Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC), HIMAWANTI and ASTHA (two federations of women’s groups). During this Phase, the W+ Team has conducted the following activities required by the W+ Standard :
- Stakeholder Consultations in the districts
- Baseline Survey with non-users of biogas (as proxies for the users before they began use of the biogas)
- Measurement of the Results, using the same survey questionnaire with biogas users
- Analysis of Do No Harm, using Survey Questionnaire
Results of this project will be audited by members of the Standard Committee in mid- September to assure compliance with the W+ Standard.
