Kanchan Lama, WOCAN Board Member, awarded the Celebrating Womenhood Annapurna Award 2016 in Nepal in recognition for dedicating her skills and knowledge to the development of Nepali society through education and environmental programs. 
The award was part of the Navadevi Samman Karyakram (New goddess award program), organized by the SSY group in association with Kantipur Publication. This is the only awards for Nepali women that recognizes and honors real life heroines who represent all sectors of society from different regions of the country. First woman President of Nepal, Vidya Bhandari was also present at the event.
