Sunitha Bishan, WOCAN Core Associate, was on the panel discussing, ‘Balancing Work-Life in a Raging Climate’ during the ASEAN Work-Life Balance conference held from 23-25 Feb in Malaysia. Sunitha reflected on her experience as a government delegate at the COP21 which was held in Dec 2015 in Paris. She also presented the W+ Standard as a social innovation to support women’s empowerment and contribution to climate action.
The conference was organized by eHomemakers, with support from the ASEAN Foundation and the Japan-ASEAN Solidarity Fund (JASF). In November last year, eHomemakers together with the ASEAN foundation and Japan-ASEAN Solidarity Fund (JASF) initiated a grassroots movement titled ‘1 Million ASEAN Voices for Work-Life Balance’. This initiative aims to mobilize the people of ASEAN, through online and offline platforms, to strengthen our call for action to formulate WLB-enabling policies and national machineries in ASEAN.
