WOCAN hosted the Women in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WARM) on 5 March in Bangkok, Thailand. WARM is an informal gathering initiated by WOCAN to share, learn and build a network of individuals who are interested in issues related to Women in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (with men warmly welcomed). The 15 participants (13 women and 2 men) represented UN Agencies, private sector, research institutes, donor agencies and INGO. The discussion focused on how to bridge the gap between the private sector and investment with programs and projects focused on gender and women’s empowerment. All participants expressed the importance of an informal networking event such as WARM and a strong commitment to attend and support future WARM meetings. The next WARM is scheduled for May 2015.
