HIMAWANTI was established as a non-profit organization under the Government of Nepal’s Registration Act on March 2nd, 1998. They are a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization dedicated to strengthening women in sustainable natural resource management across different districts of Nepal.
They aim to promote solidarity among women at the grassroots level in order to increase their access to natural resources, as well as to ensure the equitable distribution and the benefits accruing from them. This is performed through our consultation and networking among grassroots women. HIMAWANTI offers women the opportunities to discuss resource management policies and practices, share their respective situations, and evolve appropriate strategies.
