This is the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development’s review of the SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. This review provides brief analyses of trend data for SDG 5 targets and status updates. It also identifies challenges for implementation at the national level and opportunities for implementation. The review provides recommendations to decrease the gaps especially in gender disaggregated data and emphasizes areas in which intergovernmental bodies can play a more visible role and provide guidance.
