In agriculture and natural resource management, fields of study such as forestry, energy, and water management are often male-dominated and entry as a young woman can be difficult. The young woman’s experience in the field is not unique but it does come from a perspective that will change over time. Establishing a forum for the voices of young women professionals is, therefore, essential to the growth of any global network. By tapping into the insights and experiences of young women in the field, new ideas and points of view are brought to the table. It also offers young women a support network of peers to share their knowledge. A young women’s forum encourages and facilitates growth and learning through sharing and mentoring.
